Deadline Hollywood reports Trump’s star on the Walk of Fame was destroyed early Wednesday morning by a man dressed as a construction worker. The site has now published video of the vandalism which took place at 5:45 am:

Donald Trump’s star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame was destroyed early Wednesday morning by a man dressed as a city construction worker wielding a sledgehammer and pick-ax. The man, who told Deadline his name was Jamie Otis, said he was trying to extract the star to auction it off and raise funds for the women who have come forward to accuse Trump of sexually assaulting them over the decades.

Here’s the image of Trump’s star after it was smashed:

A couple of curious things about this story. Deadline reports it happened this morning at 5:45am. And yet, there was a camera crew on hand to record the incident. You can see them at one point in the Deadline video:

Maybe this guy just happened to be taking a walk down Hollywood Blvd. at 5:45 am. with a broadcast camera. This is Hollywood so you never know. But it’s also possible ‘Jamie Otis’ gave someone a heads up this would be happening today. Here’s the only time you catch a glimpse of his face. He’s wearing a mask of some kind:

This isn’t the first time someone has vandalized Trump’s star. Back in July someone put a tiny wall around it:

Months earlier there was a swastika:
