Feel-Good Friday: Flashback to that time Robin Williams warned us about Joe Biden

Let’s end the first week of 2023 with a laugh. There’s a video clip of a routine the late comedian Robin Williams used to do about Joe Biden during the days of the Obama administration. The video gets dusted off every now and then to remind us that we were warned about Joe Biden during the years before he was elected president. Yet, here we are. Joe Biden is president and getting the last laugh.

Here is the video, with a warning. Beware of incoming F-bombs.

That was back in 2009. Biden has only gotten worse. By the time Joe Biden ran in the Democrat presidential primary for the 2020 election, even Barack Obama was warning Democrats about the danger of nominating Biden.

“Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to fuck things up,” Obama told a fellow Democrat during the 2020 presidential primary. The former president disparaged his running mate again during a conversation with a Democratic candidate: “And you know who really doesn’t have it?” Obama said. “Joe Biden.”

With “good friends”, as Biden calls Obama, like that, who needs enemies?

Former Defense Secretary Bob Gates wrote in his memoir that Joe Biden, who served as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for eight years, had been wrong on major foreign policy issues for forty years. “I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” Gates served in both the George W. Bush and Obama administrations. Gates has been proved correct – we all witnessed the utterly disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Biden refused to take the advice of military leaders and intelligence experts and went his own way. The blood of those who died on the final days of airlifts out of the country are on Biden’s hands, especially the final day.

Biden’s wrong-headedness is a common opinion among Republicans.

Former George W. Bush Deputy C hief of Staff Karl Rove in 2010: “Since his election to the U.S. Senate in the early 70s, Joe Biden has been on the wrong end of virtually every foreign policy dispute since then.”

Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer in 2012: The vice president over the last 30 years “holds the American record for [being] wrong on the most issues in foreign affairs ever. … He is the Herbert Hoover of American foreign policy.”

Marc Thiessen, speechwriter to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and President Bush, in 2012: “The fact is Biden has a near-perfect record of being wrong about almost every major foreign policy question that the United States has faced in the past three decades.”

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., in 2012: “Biden has – has been consistently wrong on every national security issue that I’ve been involved in in the last 20 years or so.”

They’ve all been proven right, too. Between the bumbling speeches, incoherent sentences, and bad decision-making, Biden is a disaster. Just yesterday during his speech rolling out some new policies for migrants, he presented an incoherent plan for migrants to use cell phone apps to gain entry into the U.S., he called Kamala ‘President Harris’ a couple of times, and he said that the 20,000 lbs of fentanyl seized at the border is enough to kill a thousand people. It’s enough to kill millions, maybe a billion people. The man is clueless. And he went on to say that after Title 42 goes away, DHS will go back to Title 9, er, Title 8. Then he asked, Is that right? Good Lord.

Robin Williams was one of my favorite comedians. I miss him, especially in times like these.
