Rep. Cory Mills to the Rescue for Americans Stuck in Haiti

Haiti is a failed state. That statement has been true for years. Chaos has broken out once again as violent gangs take over. Caribbean leaders met in Jamaica as Haitian Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry announced his resignation.

Henry stepped aside to facilitate a transitional presidential council and a new leader who could handle the immense unrest and violence across the country. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan welcomed the decision.

'The government that I’m running cannot remain insensitive in this situation. There is no sacrifice that is too big for our country," Henry said in a recorded statement. "The government I’m running will remove itself immediately after the installation of the council."

Sullivan also said that "ultimately, decisions about Haiti should be made by the Haitian people," applauding Henry’s resignation for taking into account "the best interests of the Haitian people." He continued to note that the discussions about operations and efforts to aid Haiti have proven positive and encouraging, with officials "hopeful" Kenya's police coalition from Eastern Africa will eventually occur and help bring order to the island nation.

An agreement was made during the Jamaica conference to provide $100M to help fund Kenya's police coalition and $33M for additional assistance. Kenya's police coalition agreed to establish order in Haiti.

Someone named Barbeque is taking charge. He is one of the prisoners who were let out of the prison when the doors were swung open during a riot. The inmates are running the asylum.

The State Department has ordered the evacuation of non-emergency U.S. government personnel and diplomatic family members from its embassy in Port-au-Prince. It advised all American citizens to leave Haiti as soon as possible.

Gang violence continues to rise. What is Joe Biden doing? He's doing as he has a habit of doing - he's leaving Americans behind in an emergency situation. Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) said that Joe Biden has a "pattern of abandonment."

Rep. Mills is taking on the job of getting Americans out of Haiti. For the third time since President Biden took office, Rep. Mills has stepped forward and rescued Americans from overseas.

"I am proud to report that my team and I were successful in evacuating [and] rescuing a trapped and at-risk group of Americans from Have Faith Orphanage in Haiti last night," Mills told Fox News Digital.

"This mission reiterates a disturbing reality under President Biden’s leadership: American lives are continually jeopardized," Mills said. "I have led missions to rescue Americans multiple times when Joe Biden has deserted them."

"There’s a clear pattern of abandonment," Mills said, citing his rescue missions in Afghanistan following the U.S. military drawdown in 2021 and the rescue of Americans from Israel in late 2023. "Yet again, this group was left behind by Biden and his State Department after requesting their help in-country."

The 10 Americans evacuated from Haiti worked at the Have Faith Orphanage in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. The State Department requested U.S. military forces deploy to Haiti over the weekend. They are needed to bolster security at the U.S. Embassy. They airlifted non-essential personnel, such as the families of diplomats who had not evacuated when the original order to evacuate was delivered.

The State Department delivered a message meant to assure Americans they are involved and in charge. Yeah, right.

"We have no higher priority than the safety and security of U.S. citizens overseas," a U.S. State Department spokesperson said, adding, "The U.S. Embassy remains open with limited staffing and will continue to assist U.S. citizens as necessary."

The Biden State Department is inept and incompetent. There is no other way to describe the department. They seem incapable of getting Americans home. The State Department evacuated its diplomatic family members, as it should, but left behind 10 Americans working in an orphanage. During a briefing Tuesday, State Department spokesman Matt Miller said he doesn't know how many Americans are still in Haiti and trying to leave. Given the seriousness of the situation, that is a jaw-dropping admission.

Miller offered some advice.

"U.S. citizens wishing to depart Port-au-Prince should monitor local news and information on security conditions from commercial transportation providers and should arrange to leave Haiti when security conditions and commercial transportation options permit doing so," the spokesperson explained.

That sounds a lot like the advice Americans were given as they scrambled to get out of Israel after the massacres of October 7, 2023, by Hamas. Cory Mills went to Israel to rescue Americans. Governor Ron DeSantis sent chartered planes to rescue Floridians and other Americans and flew them to Florida. I won't be surprised to read that DeSantis is rescuing Americans in Haiti.

Rep. Mills posted on social media about the rescue mission.

Mills told Florida Politics he personally paid for the evacuation operation from Haiti. He was on the flights transporting individuals off the island, sharing video footage from the helicopter and a still of rescued individuals.

“I am proud to report that my team and I were successful in evacuating and rescuing a trapped and at-risk group of Americans from ‘Have Faith Orphanage’ in Haiti last night,” Mills posted on X.

In the same post, he questioned why operations like this continue pulling Americans out of troubled regions while the U.S. government does not take similar action.

“This recent mission reiterates a disturbing reality that under President (Joe) Biden’s leadership American lives are continually jeopardized,” he wrote. “I have conducted rescue evacs of Americans multiple times when Joe Biden has deserted them. There’s a clear pattern of abandonment!”

God bless him. He is doing Joe Biden's job.

We need new leadership in Washington, D.C. Maybe in November enough Americans will be fed up with what is happening in the world today and vote for a new president. Until then, the world is a dangerous place for Americans.
