Did You Notice What Was Missing From NBC News’ Piece About the Latest Pride Chant?

With Pride Month ending, a new chant has emerged that has confirmed many preconceived notions about the LGBT community, or at least the extremists within it. The “groomer” attack line was described as homophobic, but what was uttered during New York City’s Drag March was unsettling. What makes it worse is that the articles from the establishment media to downplay the incident have been fact-checked as false. Despite the headlines, the pieces contained zero evidence to support the claim that the chant “We’re coming for your children” has been used for years.

Many of these folks could be heard chanting at the march, “We’re coming for your children.” The spin: the chant was aimed at poking fun at the anti-LGBT sentiment. Okay, well, why wasn’t that the gist of the NBC News piece, whose core defense was that this isn’t a new slogan and that it was meant to poke some fun?

“The ‘coming for your children’ chant has been used for years at Pride events, according to longtime march attendees and gay rights activists,” said the piece.

That’s not true.

The only other time this was uttered was in 2021 in San Francisco from a gay man’s choir, as explained by the community note attached to the NBC News tweet. The left is historically illiterate, so this isn’t entirely shocking, but when other drag queens at the march say this was a dumb idea—you know it was half-witted.

That’s the real story, but the liberal media would never print it, as it would be seen as legitimizing Republican talking points. Despite what NBC News shared on social media, the piece doesn’t go into Pride history as it was to defend the chant, with some claiming that it was meant to take the “sting” out of the “accusations lobbied against the LGBTQ community.” I’m not sure a chant that says you want to sexualize, indoctrinate, and rape children will sell.

There was a period when the GOP refused to get heavily involved in the culture wars, except for abortion. That was probably due to the shellacking the party took in the 2011 cycle. There was the “legitimate rape” gaffe by the late Todd Akin and the war on women narrative, which Republicans could not respond to in any meaningful fashion. So, we decided to focus for a bit on policy and leave these cultural fights to the left to occupy. Call it the Paul Ryan protocol, and it failed miserably.

While we absconded from these battlefields and entered the ivory towers, the left went unchecked while undergoing the “woke” metamorphosis we see now. This process led progressives to take over school boards and infuse cultural Marxism into the core curriculum. The COVID pandemic exposed the whole scheme, with teachers not telling parents about their child’s gender identity issues and doling out puberty blockers behind their backs. For some weird reason, the push for wholesale child mutilation surgeries on minors at the macro level is another top action item for the far left.

This is what happens when you leave the battlefield. Give the left an inch; they take 500 miles. We can’t let it happen again. Conservatives are sprinting to catch up, and we’re lucky that most of the left’s top social agenda items are out of whack with most voters. That’s not hyperbole. Transgenders participating in women’s sports is an issue that, despite the media coverage supporting the concept, isn’t backed by the overwhelming majority. Conservatives didn’t do anything, but the left’s shift in these matters has made us the de facto defenders of women. At the base level, we acknowledged that they exist and have gender-specific activities only biological females can partake in. In contrast, the left calls women “non-men” and thinks anyone can be anything if we tweak some things like Frankenstein’s monster. That’s not science. That’s mental illness.
