UN gets reality checked after Burkina Faso energy whoop-dee-do

Okay. This is one of the funniest body slams I have ever seen in my life and it just played out on Twitter.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

… is on the ground in about 170 countries and territories, working to eradicate poverty while protecting the planet. UNDP helps countries to develop strong policies, skills, partnerships and institutions so they can sustain their progress.

So, basically, meddling know-it-alls who lord it over 3d World countries just trying to claw their way out of poverty and war cycles. All you have to do is read this mission statement in the “What We Do” section:

Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), otherwise known as the Global Goals, are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

Okay – kumbayah.

They burped up a cheerful factoid today on Twitter about energy use goals in Burkina Faso of all places.

Yay! The impoverished country was…wait. Going to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 30%? I wasn’t aware they had a real problem to begin with, being poor, rural, etc, even while the U.N. thinks so. Guess I was wrong?

Turns out, I was right.

A Kenyan agricultural engineer named Jusper Machogu jumped into the thread and proceeded to school them. Well, more like filet them alive…politely. His facts and charts make a complete mockery of the tweet and highlight the utter arrogance, inequality, and inhumanity of the Green movement for all their virtue signaling.

His charts, in order:

As I learned reading through the thread, “clean” fuels for cooking refer to gas or electricity, not traditional dung or charcoal fires…but mostly dung. They have just climbed to 12% of the population having access to that. With an average of 80kW of power per person per year, a number so low, it flatlines on the chart compared to China, less mind the United States. And they’re being encouraged – perhaps extorted with grant monies – to cut that by a third? When less than 20% of the entire country has electricity to begin with?

African countries and other EU trading partners were already getting a little hot around the collar about the various restrictions being placed on them regarding either the growing or manufacturing of their products before they’d be pure enough for European consumption. All these lofty Green dream goals and mandates for developing countries that have barely even climbed out of the 1800s (or earlier in their rural areas) in many instances are stifling growth.

The chipper Mr. Machogu knows what it’s all about.

At least Stacy Abrams left Africa before she joined that “Rewiring America” dark money renewable group. They’d have her selling LEDs to folks in huts in a war-torn 3d world country. Turn them into “electricity moguls” like she said she was planning to do for the rest of us,

Ice cubes to eskimos used to be a joke.
